Waqqas Mir is a partner at the Lahore office of Mohsin Tayebaly and Co. - one of Pakistan's premier corporate and commercial law firms. The firm is headquartered in Karachi, the commercial capital of Pakistan. Waqqas is an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan, a Barrister of Lincoln’s Inn (UK) and has a Master's degree from Harvard Law School where he was a Fulbright scholarship grantee. He has also previously served as a Joint Director at the Competition Commission of Pakistan - the country's anti-trust watchdog. Waqqas regularly advises and represents the private sector as well as government institutions on a broad range of adversarial and non-adversarial matters. On the litigation side, his practice focuses on civil, commercial/banking, intellectual property law, company law, regulatory law, competition law and constitutional law litigation. Waqqas also has a significant amount of experience working on commercial transactions and he has advised corporate clients on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, securitization of loans and due diligence in privatization of state-owned enterprises. He has a first degree in economics and obtained his law degree from the University of London.
Muhammad Ali Nekokara - Law Panel on (Date TBA)
Muhammad Ali Nekokara has been serving in the Police Service of Pakistan since September 1999 performing challenging and high-pressure police field assignments in Lahore and various districts of Punjab. In addition to his field work, Mr. Nekokara has performed staff assignments, most notably as Principal Staff Officer to the Chief Minister of Punjab.
Mr. Nekokara, a Senior Superintendent of Police is presently the Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector General of Police in Punjab. He holds a Master's in Criminal Justice from the London School of Economics and a Master's in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School.
