Conference Concept:Harvard College Pakistan Weekend (HCPW) is a conference that aims to mold the international narrative about Pakistan by providing an opportunity for students, academics, practitioners and community members to gather in discussion of Pakistan’s future. In particular, we believe there is a dearth of debate regarding Pakistan’s economic potential. For this very reason, the pioneering edition of HCPW is titled “Ensuring Economic Progress in the Pakistan of the Future.”
The core of our conference is the coming together of all individuals interested in Pakistan’s future. HCPW will promote interaction at every level of the conference by providing a platform for discussion between attendees, panelists and keynote speakers. Through our keynotes, we hope to cover three crucial facets of Pakistan’s economy: public policy, international investment in the private sector and financial sector support. At our panels, we wish to highlight the need to educate Pakistan’s young population, the pressing problem of energy, the work being done in Pakistan’s growing technology sector and finally, the much-criticized legal system. We are eager to make a lasting impact. Our vision for HCPW extends to an annual gathering where the discussion and ensuing narrative are refreshed. We look forward to welcoming you to Harvard and sharing with you our passion for Pakistan. |
